It’s just like any other day I am, short up and cornered in my own way And I’m miles and miles away Miles and miles away There’s only three bars on this street And I’m  So bored, that I been just staring at my feet I’ve got so much time to think So much time to think Where’s this cobblestone road go it’s endless I think I’m still alive my heart still beat beating Whispering a phrase Humming a tune, trying to get it made Well now Where’s this cobblestone road go it’s endless I think I’m still alive my heart still beat beating Whispering a phrase Humming a tune, trying to get it made Well I’m standing on the corner of Columbus and Homestead Signs leanin’ over and the tumbleweeds a rollin’ Well pick your head up boy and look for the horizon And just start now, just start runnin’ CHORUS I’m runnin’ so that I feel like I’m floating I’m runnin’ so I can feel the air I’m runnin’ so fast I’m runnin’ so fast I’m runnin’ so that I feel like I’m floating I’m runnin’ so I can feel the air I’ve got so much time to think So much time to think

So we built this table On my back porch it took all day We lost the parts to something And it’s only got three legs Well I’ve been thinking that your really lovely Maybe too much thinking before made it hard to see Well I’ve been thinking that your really lovely Maybe too much thinking before made it hard to see So we went a walkin’ Through the forest on the way And kept on talking Smelling roses on that day Well I’ve been thinking that your really lovely Maybe too much thinking before made it hard to see There came a clearing In the forest so we stayed And the sun was shinning On the spot where we laid Well I’ve been thinking that your really lovely Maybe too much thinking before made it hard to see Well I’ve been thinking that your really lovely Maybe too much thinking before made it hard to see

He’s a standin’ Just as tall as he can But he’s like Atlas in a coal mine And he’s got a gun in his hand His shoes are worn through And his soul is tired He wants to be a hawk But he’s a canary and he smells fire And he’s walking straight Just as straight as he can The road is a winding one And the path is long ahead Ooooohhhh The Moonlights a shinning’ The air streams in There’s the smell of fresh rain And the sound of people overhead His feet touch ground The rain on his back The crowds din fights to pull his focus off of whats at stake And he’s walkin’ straight Just as straight as he can He hopes its not a mirage ahead He hopes he’s a lucky man Ooooooohhhhh He crosses the east tracks Just past Broadway and Fifth He’s alone in an empty field The silhouette of his house upon the horizon sits A lonely lamp burns on the porch It’s what lights his road ahead He stumbles over long grown grass And sharp rocks that crowd his tread And he’s walking straight Just as straight as he can Yeah dinners on the table And he’s glad he made his bed Ooooooohhhhhh A lonely house upon the horizon sits A man and his family The night no more amiss

about

“Cobblestone Road,” “Really Lovely,” and “Walking Straight” have been carefully chosen to be on the first of three mini albums to be released in the summer of 2013. Combined, they tell the story of a road-weary traveler, far away, and longing for home and familiarity.

Each song draws inspiration from country, folk, and blues rock traditions, marking a natural evolution from David Hustler’s debut EP “Handwritten”(2010), to the creation of David Hustler & the Trustworthy, a powerful and eclectic five piece band.

DH & the TW have spent the past three years defining their sound, honing their live performance, and now harnessing the energy and passion of their show onto disc. These are the recordings. Enjoy.

Thank you so much to everyone for making this album possible.  No one can ever thank their families and close friends enough, but we will do our best here.

First of all thank you to our parents: Keith & Dianne Hustler, Howard & Christine Wilson, Murray Elliott and Bob & Kate Binning, Paul & Ruth Ann Eckert, and June & Jean-Marc Theriault... for bringing us into the world, supporting our crazy dreams and allowing us and our friends to bang around on our instruments in your basements throughout the years.  You allowed us to find our creative voices. Thanks also to the lovely ladies of our lives:  Caitlynn Wyckoff, Alicia Elliott, Melonie de Guzman, and Melissa Diegel... and of course our siblings and all of our extended families from all over Canada.

This record would have not been possible without the significant financial contributions of the following people prior to this albums release:

Carolynn & Warren Wyckoff, Keith & Dianne Hustler, Jason+Evette & Charleigh Wade, Jen+Craig & Jodi Hustler, Melonie de Guzman, Mike Eckert, Brent & Karen Raynor, Jay Smith and also last but not least our anonymous $1000 contributor... at the least you know who you are.

This is the first of three EP’s to be released this summer, and we are so excited for you all to hear these songs that mean so much to us, and we hope they will mean just as much to you.

Spread the word, share the music you love with the world, and support independent music.

Much Love,
David, Hugh, Jeff, Rob, Ian
